Here was the original post about the project:
‘Musician Portraits’ is a new project in progress by Joe Simpson that will be shown as a major exhibition later this year. The project is a series of paintings of famous singers, musicians and bands. There are a number of high profile and notable acts already involved, including Mark Ronson, The National, Faithless, Vampire Weekend, Paloma Faith and Iron & Wine.
Joe is approaching his favourite musicians from a wide range of musical genres and nationalities to include in the series. The project is set to be a unique exhibition, with a fantastic line up of some of the best musicians in the industry. Once the subjects have agreed to be included in the series, Joe meets up with each artist to take original photographs to work from to create an original oil painting. Joe is aiming to complete around 30 paintings for the series.
Jamie agreed to take part :D . You can see Joe’s INCREDIBLE painting of Jamie here
It’s Oil on Canvas 60 x 60 cm.
There will be an exhibition in London later this year. The paintings will eventually be on sale too!
