Roald Dahl Day

September 13th is Roald Dahl Day! Dahl, the famous author and also grandfather of Sophie Dahl is in the news today.

Chris Evans gave a big shout-out to Sophie and Jamie on his breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 this morning whilst discussing the hut that Roald used to write his books in. The Telegraph explains the intended restoration of this hut to enable visitors to see it. 

The writer and former model is looking to raise £500,000 to pay for archivists to restore the interior and move it to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre just a few miles away in where it can be put on display for the public.
The author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory moved to Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire in 1954 where he wrote all of his stories in a hut that was specially built in his garden...read more
