Friday Roundup: Start as you mean to carry on

the best way to catch up with what's been happening this week in the world of Jamie Cullum and beyond!

So 2013 began in style with Jamie's Twitter followers reaching that magic number of 100K. This means just one thing...Jamie promised a second Twitter gig. He confirmed it with his tweet:

Hopefully, this will coincide with the announcement of the new album and first single release date, a great excuse for a global gathering of JC fans on Twitter! Then the year will really get cracking. We can look forward to hearing Jamie's new music on the radio/TV as the promo wheels start turning once again. It promises to be a very exciting year so make sure you drop by often to catch up with the very latest. Here at All Things Cullum, things have already started warming up by revisiting some old interviews, photos and newspaper cuttings. There's a new little series looking back at jazz standards covered by Jamie and others, you can read parts 1 to 3 on the blog, with more on the way in the coming weeks.

On this week's BBC Radio 2 show, we got to hear Bryan Ferry go all jazzy! A great Maida Vale Session, listen here if you missed it.

Coming up on the show next Tuesday is bassist and composer Avishai Cohen
Listen every Tuesday at 7pm at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2

There is an opportunity for you to nominate Jamie for yet another award, the Parliamentary Jazz Awards have rolled around again. Jamie won Jazz Broadcaster of 2012. There's bound to be room for another one on the mantlepiece, so please take a few moments to fill out the voting form here

Keep up with the very latest news as it happens on Twitter and Facebook.
